- We are a group of patients dedicated to improving communication and co-operation between the practice and its patients to the benefit of both. Information from the practice and PPG is delivered monthly to approximately 1,500 households via the Nut Tree Parish Magazine. It is also available in village shops across the practice catchment area.
- The PPG provides a patient’s perspective to the practice on the care provided and overall experience. Feedback from Friends and Family and via other means (once anonymised) is shared by the practice with members each month for discussion when necessary.
- There are two types of membership – full and virtual. A full member attends meetings and can vote and make decisions, whilst virtual members can email their ideas, and questions. All members receive a monthly bulletin from NHS Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly Integrated Care Services.
- The PPG is not a platform for complaints or personal grievances, nor is it an opportunity to discuss personal health matters or experiences. Constructive feedback and ideas are welcomed. D.P.R. is strictly observed and patient confidentiality respected at all times. Members currently represent a broad spectrum of views from ages ranging from 25 to 85 .
- The PPG actively supported Quay Lane Surgery throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It continues to provide a vital weekly medicine delivery service for the practice to the housebound and particularly vulnerable patients.
- We raise funds for medical and ancillary equipment not provided by the NHS, for the main and branch surgery to enhance patient care and experience. This includes providing Goodie Bags for very young patients receiving their pre-school immunisations.
